Tosa Maidan, Kashmir

Tosa Maidan is located 10 km from Khag in green and majestic Pir Panjal Range of Kashmir. Since several years, Tosa Maidan has been attractions many nature lovers and tourists. Given the beautiful landscape of this destination, visitors simply surrender their mind for the entire duration of their stay.
To reach Tosa Maidan, cross the upper mountain reaches of Zakhora, Drang and a few small villages. A path from here leads to Nilnag village where a resplendent lake is situated marked by the pine trees standing on its periphery.
Tosa Maidan has a historical background too. Long ago, the Mughal rulers would pass through this destination to reach Poonch.
There are plenty of fresh water springs in Tosa Maidan; however, the spring present in Khag closeby is especially known for its curative properties.
To reach Tosa Maidan, hire a taxi (shared or private) from Srinagar. The most ideal season to visit this region is between May and September. During the remaining months, Tosa Maidan remained covered with a thick blanket of snow.

The local 'Kothawalas' are the best providers of lodging to the tourists who visit the Tosa Maidan meadow.
