According to a latest report, the USA is the most traversed self-drive destination from India. The report has been released by Avis India, wherein they have mapped a change in travel preference for Indian consumers in terms of international travel. According to the booking data of their platform, it says that the US accounts for 37 per cent of the total self-drive international bookings from India in 2018.
Travellers from India also booked international destinations such as Australia, with August to October 2018 as the peak seasons, while New Zealand was high in demand for self-drive rentals from October 2018 to January 2019.
These trends indicate that Indians are road savvy people who love to ride far and wide in cars! The trends shown here could change the tourism sector with more services being available for such trips abroad. The USA, of course, holds a special place as of now, while European countries come second.
