Tasty mountain food is how they best describe themselves at this unique food truck. The man behind Alplings is Martin Auer, originally from the Austrian Alps and he has brought a little slice of home to this city. So what exactly are alplings? They are bread-based dumplings that tend to be either vegetarian or served with cured meats. You will find a variety of vegetarian flavours here including beetroot, spinach and cheese. They have also added Apfelstrudel 'n Cream to their menu, which tends to be very popular. The food truck pops up at markets and along the streets of Edinburgh and has proved to be so popular that a restaurant is currently in the works.
