Ananda is a cosy place and best to be visited after sightseeing around the area. If you are in a tuk-tuk and ask for a restaurant recommendation, chances are that the guy will drop you at Ananda. Located in Port Blair, Ananda is well known for local Andamanese and North Indian varieties. The restaurant is very close to the Cellular Jail and Gurudwara. Ananda is a cosy place and best to be visited after sightseeing around the area. If you are in a tuk-tuk and ask for a restaurant recommendation, chances are that the guy will drop you at Ananda. Of course, being well known comes at a price; expect to wait in a queue as the restaurant is usually crowded during lunchtime. The ambience is simple and service is prompt. This unassuming restaurant is reasonably priced and serves quality food. The best dishes served here are local varieties, and Nicobari chicken is highly recommended. This family restaurant remains open throughout the day and even offers decent spread for vegetarians.
