Located on Gatoen Lam, in the central Clock Tower Square area, a major spot in the town of Thimphu, the Bhutan Kitchen is one of the finest Bhutanese cuisine restaurants that is set on the top floor of a building which still retains subtle touches of traditional architecture of the region. The seating arrangement of the place has been designed in a traditional manner, there is a standout kitchen, and a menu that has been made keeping in mind the globetrotters who want to delve deep into the Bhutanese kitchen. Although a shot of arra (the local firewater) and sud-ja (butter tea) are the two things that can make you fall in love with the restaurant instantly, the dish you just can’t miss out on is ema datse.
