Catalunya is arguably Hong Kong’s hottest culinary venue, and given the people working behind the scenes, it’s entirely understandable. The food can be attributed to a team of chefs comprising of 20 experts from Spain’s Michelin starring restaurants (El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca, Mugaritz, Arzak and Restaurante Martin Berasategui) and headed by executive chef Alain Devahive Tolosa (who worked at El Bulli for a decade), and the theatrical and imposing interiors have been designed by award-winning New York designers AvroKO. Housed within a deceptively plain office building, and churning out the best Catalan cuisine in Hong Kong, Catalunya offers guests an authentic Spanish experience through its décor, service, food, wine and ambience. Diners rave about the truffle bikini (a sandwich of cured ham, mozzarella and truffle oil) and slow-roasted suckling pig, which pair beautifully with one of the Spanish wines off their extensive list. Go here when you’re in the mood for some delicious fine-dining and a stylish night out.
