Chinese House

Chinese House is one of Phnom Penh’s hippest restaurants. Having recently gone through a major renovation, the restaurant boasts a trendy downstairs bar and upstairs fine dining space. The bar is dark and serves inventive world-class cocktails and a delicious tapas menu. The tapas menu utilises fresh local ingredients to create an array of international dishes to sample. Too many tempting morsels on the menu to choose from? Never fear—there’s a sharing plate with a little bit of everything for you.
The bar also has live music and DJs, making it a bit of a hot spot over the weekend and long into the night. Along with guest musicians, the Chinese House bar also often has guest mixologists from all over the world to mix up tasty concoctions for you to slurp down with your tapas. Whatever your taste, they have something to offer. We recommend the explorer’s planters punch or a spicy martini to get your night started.

Upstairs, the dining room provides a tranquil escape from the bar below. Traditionally the home of a Chinese merchant over a hundred years ago, the house has extremely high ceilings and a rustic charm. The food is prepared by the head chef Amy Baard and like the bar downstairs, utilises the area’s freshest and imported ingredients. Meals are modern as well as classic with dishes like pumpkin soup and crostini, seafood tortellini and beef tenderloin providing a hearty menu to sink your teeth in.
