One of the most fascinating things about this restaurant is Scott Bagshaw, part owner and head chef of Deseo. Born in Montreal but grown up in Winnipeg, Scott spent much of his younger years travelling through Europe and learning from some of the best teachers. After returning home to Winnipeg, Scott opened Deseo in October 2010, and remains one of the most talked about and most colourful chefs in the city. Visitors to this restaurant should expect to taste a variety of things including but not limited to B.C. king salmon, chorizo and figs, grilled skirt steak and more. They also happen to be known for their very delicious and very comprehensive cocktail menu that includes the amazing Raspberry Smash and Silver Fizz. This tapas style restaurant is set up for people to share, and the modern yet inviting décor allows everyone to feel welcome. The servers are incredibly knowledgeable in suggesting food as well as pairing wine and if you feel like sharing a meal with a special someone, definitely put this on your list of places to dine in style.
