Think of silver chandeliers, wood panelled floors, grey walls and airy French windows. Now add a sprinkling of traditional Swiss dishes, a large helping of Italian staples and a dollop of French flavours. Top these off with impeccable service and you get what is known as Didi’s Frieden. One of the classiest restaurants in Zurich, Didi’s Frieden is the brainchild of chef Didi Bruna and is a thorough gastronomic paradise. Their pigeon breast preparation will melt in your mouth, the blood sausages will be like a burst of salty goodness, the hot chocolate cake will remind you of the good things in life and the wine will transport you to cloud nine. Didi’s four course lunch menu is downright artistic both in terms of flavour and presentation. The creativity of the chef can be gauged by the fact that these menus change on a daily basis. The portions are dainty and your dessert will come with a chocolaty message from the chef himself.
