Popular plate: Turkish mixed grill with doner kebab and meze is a good choice.

Claiming to be the city’s first Anatolian restaurant (it’s not true, but never mind), Lalezar dishes up some delicious (if pricey) kebabs in a setting so lavish, it could easily be mistaken for an Ottoman palace. The place takes pains to honour its Turkish heritage. Homey meals prepared by chef Deniz Katranci come with Turkish wine pairings. Even the tiles are Anatolian imports.

While there are cheaper Turkish restaurants in town, with similar quality fare, none are on the Palm, and none claim as magnificent a setting.
