Don’t let an ambiguous name define the quality of a restaurant for Stern, in reality, is a very welcoming address. With European staples in the form of trouts, pork chops, parfaits, mousses and chocolate cakes, this place has been wooing travellers for perhaps the longest time. In fact, it is said to have been around ever since the 14th century! And despite its age, it serves modern fare that will keep you coming back for more. While the food at Stern is prepared with the freshest of locally sourced ingredients and packs in a lot of flavour, the presentation exudes finesse and artistic prowess. The portions are large and will fill you up. The drinks on the other hand range from fine wines to breezy cocktails.
Those travelling around the city with their families will love this place and will be pleasantly surprised by the reasonably priced fare. The service is fast and the servers always have great suggestions up their sleeve. Stern is easily one of the nicest restaurants in Lucerne with a consistently good rating and a meal is therefore warranted. Do make sure you get a prior reservation and try and grab a table outside as Swiss streets have this dreamy air around them.
