Seafood restaurant Solsiden brings new meaning to the phrase "seasonal food" - it's only open from May to early September. This can leave fish-lovers frustrated during the winter months, but it certainly adds to the sense of revelry in summer.
Located on the sunny side of the harbor, opposite the Aker Brygge, the capacious restaurant attracts a mixed crowd from across the city. Many of the dishes are Nordic-inspired although the menu usually includes a few exotic options, such as redfish. There's also an outside bar area serving lighter, simpler dishes.
