Plush interiors and polite hospitality welcome you, as you enter Benjarong, the only stand-alone restaurant in the city that offers true-blue Thai cuisine. Authentic recipes, mystery ingredients and piquant sauces make the menu exciting. For starters, the tamarind prawn or Goon Tood Samunpai, the soft shell crabs or Pu Nim Tod and the Tom Yum seafood soup or Tom Yum Talay pack plenty of punch. Vegetarians can tuck into the sweet & tangy Phad Thai with Vegetables and Thai Red Curry with cauliflower and bamboo shoot or Kaeng Ped Doklampuri. Their signature Gai-Hor-Baitei - marinated chicken pieces, wrapped in pandana leaves and deep fried - is a hot seller. For desserts, there is the water chestnut in chilled, sweet coconut milk and the Sankhaya Fakthong, which is a coconut & pumpkin pudding. Located on the top floor of South City Mall, Benjarong is a good place to take a break from your shopping or give your tired feet a rest.
