Amanpuri

The Amanpuri hotel on Pansea Beach is a 'place of peace', situated in a coconut grove between sea and sky on the jade green island of Phuket. The award-winning Amanpuri is the flagship hotel of the well-known Aman Resorts, and named for the Sanskrit word for 'peace'. Situated in the crescent of a sandy beach in a coconut grove, the resort contains 40 Thai-style pavilions and 30 private villa homes and other buildings—a magnificent setting which permeates a sense of timeless elegance.
Rooms
Accommodation consists of 40 Thai-style pavilions and 30 private villa homes which are interspersed within the coconut plantation and connected by elevated walkways. All pavilions feature an outdoor sala with a sun deck and dining terrace, a king-size bed, oversized bathrooms and spacious dressing areas. There are three deluxe ocean pavilions with sea views, 40 (private outdoor terrace) pavilions, 25 superior garden pavilions with views of the coconut palms, and four superior ocean pavilions with sea views. There are also 30 Thai villas of two to six separate bedrooms, which have a private pool plus living and dining Thai salas.

Restaurants and bars There are many dining options with an array of cuisines and settings on offer. The Terrace Restaurant serves Thai and European specialities and offers casual all-day dining in an alfresco setting, while The Restaurant serves Italian cuisine. Both are adjacent to the resort's main swimming pool. The Beach Terrace serves seaside lunch, while Naoki serves Chef Naoki Okumura's original French kaiseki fare, combining the best of French techniques with Japanese artistry in the area just behind the beach. For poolside drinks and snacks during the day, there's The Bar, the ideal spot to see the sun setting over the Andaman Sea. Evening torch-lit barbecues are held on the beach when weather and tides permit. The Beach Club offers a bar and lounge, and room service is available 24 hours a day to guest pavilions and outdoor salas.

Facilities
The Amanpuri offers a variety of facilities and amenities for guests. These include the library which houses novels to books on Thai history and culture, a common 27-m swimming pool for guests' pleasure, a fully-equipped gym which also features a Pilates studio, six tennis courts which are lit for a game at night, and the Aman Spa which is a first full-service spa comprising of six Thai-style treatment pavilions. Also, Amanpuri operates a charter fleet of professionally crewed vessels for exclusive use by resort guests. Amancruises sails into nearby Phang Nga Bay and Krabi and to destinations such as the Similan Islands and into Malaysian waters. Guests may also wish to pursue scuba diving and golf, and participate in tour excursions.
