Geysir Hotel

The Geysir hot springs on Iceland’s Golden Circle are one of the highlights of a visit to the country. Geothermal activity in the region causes the hot springs here to burst every few minutes. Everyday hundreds of tourists flock to see the geysirs of Iceland, but the Geysir Hotel allows visitors to stay barely 100 m away from the sprouting hot springs and observe them from the comfort of their rooms. Rooms are clean and the staff is extremely warm. The spread at breakfast is typically Icelandic—breads, cheeses, cold cuts, marinated fish and juices. However the highlight of a stay at Geysir Hotel is the ability to hop across to the hot springs before the hordes get there or explore them after most tourists have left for the day.
