Originally the residence of the mayor of Pondicherry, this plush hotel is situated in the city’s French Quarter. Now managed by Sarovar Hotels, it has traditional lime-plaster walls and lovely carved woodwork. The 14 rooms blend 18th-century heritage with contemporary design and comfort.
