If you are searching for a mid-budget place to stay near River Tungabhadra, Thilak Homestay is what you are looking for. It sits right by the banks of tranquilly-flowing river, quite a lure if you wish to take a coracle down its waters. The homestay scores high with its airy, spacious, clean (quite a rarity in Hampi’s village-like settings) AC rooms, all having attached washrooms. It is run by Mr Kish, the right guy if you want to book a bicycle, plan an itinerary or make travel arrangements of any sort. The hotel restaurant serves an impressive range of Continental, Chinese and Indian dishes. Its terrace is quite perfect to watch the Sun going down, coloring river stream in various hues of orange.
