India has made an early impact at the Paris 2024 Olympics with the unveiling of the India House and athletes' achievements. Neeraj Chopra directly qualified for the finals, adding to the country's pride. During his break, he traveled to Switzerland, visiting Jungfraujoch and Zurich, and received honors for his sports achievements. Read less
India’s golden boy and Switzerland Tourism’s Friendship Ambassador Neeraj Chopra has already taken centre stage at the games this year as he directly qualifies for the finals, making the country proud once again.
Let’s take you through some of his most memorable visits across Switzerland’s Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, with this beloved Javelin in tow, as we all know, where he goes, the Javelin follows.

On this trip, he experienced the magic of a white winter exploring Lucerne’s old-world charm and the adrenaline high of the winter adventure activities at Engelberg. After this, he headed to Interlaken, where he was honoured with a plaque at the Ice Palace in Jungfraujoch and also learnt to make his own chocolate, followed by a visit to Zurich, a bustling city surrounded by lakes and mountains.
At, Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe, Indian travellers can see both the commemorative plaque unveiled by the Indian sports icon for his excellence in sports, as well as the iconic javelin donated by him. The Jungfrau Railways also added Neeraj Chopra to their Wall of Fame, alongside esteemed stars such as Roger Federer and Rory McIlroy, to name a few. While receiving this honour, Neeraj had expressed that he felt on top of the world, as he stood at the Top of Europe!
Incidentally, Switzerland is Neeraj’s favourite place to vacation outside of India; Zermatt, and Geneva are some of the other beautiful cities he has visited in Switzerland.
