The day is not far when passengers arriving at the Kempegowda International Airport will be received by a humanoid robot. This unique development is certainly the first of its kind in India but not in the world; in 2017, Seoul's Incheon International Airport introduced robots to assist the passengers and picking up litter.
The robot at the airport in Bengaluru is being designed to perform the same tasks: giving directions to the passengers, providing information, scanning luggage and handing out boarding passes.

To announce the news, IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge tweeted a minute-long video of the robot dispensing information in Kannada and English. “The robot will be able to give information about flights, check-in details, the airport and so on to help the passengers,” an IT and BT official revealed.
Besides, performing the aforementioned tasks, Kempa will also be responsible for sharing information about Karnataka, its culture and heritage and places to visit from the tourist point of view.

Reportedly, the decision to install it at the airport will be taken by Minister Priyank Kharge post a discussion with the security officials.
