If you’ve ever had a craving to indulge your inner astronomer, the Nehru Science Center and Planetarium will cater to your needs. This large domed flying saucer-like building is popular with students as well as Mumbai’s amateur astronomers. The Planetarium hosts shows in Hindi, Marathi and English, but make sure to check the schedule since the English shows only run once a day.
The cultural complex also includes an art museum and an auditorium featuring classical music concerts, dance productions and plays. The permanent Discovery of India exposition covers aspects of various philosophical and artistic thought throughout the ages. The 14 galleries seek to explore India’s identity through photographs, dioramas, and audio-visuals.
