Located a few steps from Piazza Navona, this restaurant is named after one of Rome's most garrulous ‘talking statues', so-called because of the old habit of leaving often anti-establishment messages scrawled on their bases. The statue of Pasquino has been here since 1501, scrawled with such controversial messages, it has often risked destruction.
History aside, this small simple restaurant attracts as many locals as visitors for offering reasonably-priced, traditional Roman fare in the heart of tourist land. As well as the wide selection of pizzas, the menu also covers regional specialties such as Bucatini alla amatriciana and Saltimbocca alla romana.
