Once a minister’s house, the church folk may be long gone, but in their place are a congregation of serious ale drinkers. This stone-built pub, known for its interesting list of local ales, is unashamedly old-fashioned. You’ll find original ornate interiors with lots of wood panelling, fine local whiskies and hearty home cooked food all in a convivial atmosphere.
It’s a place to come for a quiet drink while reading the papers or playing chess without any of that modern malarky of blaring music and fancy cocktails that takes away from the business of drinking. In short, a proper Scottish pub.
