Few bars offer the globe-trotting, encyclopedic beer experience that can be found at the Map Room. Nestled on a Bucktown side-street corner, there’s no swill available from any of the 26 taps and numerous fridges here – just more than 200 brands of the most interesting and unusual beers from the US, Europe and around the world: light, dark, fruit and even gluten-free beers.
Pull up a pew at the sturdy wooden bar and chat to the locals, or get comfy at a corner table and examine the travel-related ephemera on the walls. It’s paradise for beer lovers – and if you don’t ‘get’ beer, then it’s as good a place as any to receive your Damascene conversion.
