Chiang Mai’s popularity as Northern Thailand’s leading tourist destination just keeps on growing, and for good reason. The welcoming capital of the north has a little something for everyone, whether you’re one or 99. Not only is the city smaller and more easily accessible than Bangkok, making it less overwhelming to get around with kids in tow, it hosts a number of events, activities and has attractions geared towards children of all ages. Along with a number of outdoor and recreational activities allowing kids to let off some steam (for an easy stop try heading to Suan Buak Hat, the public park in Chiang Mai’s Old City), there are several art and animal attractions, museums and more to keep kids occupied. Surprisingly they are equally interesting and relevant to adults. What’s more, is that Thai people simply love children—don’t be surprised if someone comes up to you wanting to hold your baby or take older kids away to play while you enjoy a meal. In Chiang Mai it won’t be a question about what to do with kids, but simply trying to fit it all in!
