Named after the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, this busy beach is crowded with hawkers and shacks selling everything from snacks, balloons and toys. It’s the ideal spot to watch beautiful sunsets and sunrises, as well as Vizag's natural harbour. The beach is not safe for deep-sea swimming, but has plenty of other diversions to keep visitors entertained.
Kids will love the Matsyadarshini aquarium, which houses fishes and other marine creatures from all over the world. The Visakha Heritage Museum is a good place to discover the history of Visakhapatnam, through old photographs, life-like dioramas and artefacts. The beach is also home to the Kali Temple, VUDA Park, and numerous roadside eateries and restaurants. It also contains a war memorial called the Victory at Sea, dedicated to the soldiers who died during the 1971 Indo-Park War.
