Gandhi Maidan is basically an open field and one might wonder why it is so that this place finds a mention here. Well, this ground has stood witness to some of the most significant political moments of Indian history. Located in the heart of the city, Gandhi Maidan is spread over 62 acres of land. This historic ground is home to the world's tallest statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the maker of modern India. It is after him, that this ground is named. A favoured spot for morning and evening joggers, Gandhi Maidan is bordered by buzzing city roads. Keeping true to its past, this ground still hosts political rallies and other major events. And when not a part of political activism, this ground also hosts many exhibitions and shows. Local kids also learn and hone their cricket skills right in this ground.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
