Often nicknamed as the birthday park of Canada, this provincial park opened its doors in July of 1967 to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Country. There are plenty of things to see and do here and visitors should plan on spending at least a couple hours exploring if not choosing to camp overnight and spend a couple days. Bike riders will love the trails that wind in and out of the park while hikers can conquer the viewing tower that lends amazing views that stretch for miles. There are a variety of shows that take place throughout the summer in the park including horse shows, cycling races and even polo tournaments. The beach area boasts plenty of soft sand and water access for those who want to build sandcastles or simply cool down and also boasts a number of new volleyball courts. Snack stands, washrooms and lifeguards are all on site here as well. The best part about this park may just be the low admission cost (5 dollars per car) and the easy access from the actual city itself, only being about a 20-minute drive.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
