Enjoy a free day at the Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede is the biggest festival in town, where over a million people flock to the downtown stampede grounds to play, eat and take in the rodeo. The festival actually offers a few free days. The first Sunday of the Stampede Week is actually called the Family Day and the admission to the stampede grounds is free from 6 am to 9 am; yes that means getting up early! If you happen to be one of the first 20,000 visitors, then you can try for the free pancake breakfast ticket, redeemable from 7 am to 8:30 am. Although the midway and rides don’t open until 9 am, there is a free show that takes place at the grandstand stage for those looking for something to do. Another free day is just for the 65 years and above and takes place on Tuesday of the Stampede Week. Seniors have access to free rodeo tickets, evening shows, free rides, coffee, donuts and more. They didn’t forget about the kids though; Wednesday is the free day for kids. From 6 am to 9 am, kids not only get in for free but also get to indulge in free breakfast and a free show.
