We are sure you have seen dozens of photos of Peru with Llamas in them; in fact most trademark photos of the country feature the cute furry animal. On getting to Peru, you will realise it isn’t easy to spot the animal till you actually head to the countryside. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find a llama in Lima or around it. But head to Cusco, go for a drive in the countryside and you will see llamas everywhere. Most tourists wait to go to Machu Picchu to get a photo clicked with a llama but let me tell you this—the llamas in and around Machu Picchu can get quite aggressive. The sad truth is that decades of tourism and hordes of photo hungry tourists have probably scared off the adorable creatures.
