The largest market for spices and dry fruits in Asia, Khari Baoli will make your senses go on an overdrive. Unlike the modern spice markets that have spices in plastic packets and containers, on this road, you will be flooded with sensations, both visual and olfactory as vendors on both sides of the streets display their ware in the open. Mounds of yellow, vermilion, pastel white, crimson reds greet you as you chug along. One wonders what it would be like on a windy day or when a storm comes knocking unannounced! In addition to spices, dry fruits and all kinds of ration are available here. Retail outlets are open from 10 am to 8 pm and wholesale shops are open from 12 pm to 6 pm. Approximately 6000 vendors operate from this market. You will find imported items as well as those sourced from the remotest corners of India. A huge portion of this is exported and sent out to other part of India.
