The much-famous museum was shut to visitors last year as the pandemic hit India and was opened to visitors in February this year. Now, as India is grappling with a highly infectious and deadly second wave of COVID-19, the museum authorities have shut its gates again.
Its collections can now be accessed online, much to the delight of culture and heritage lovers. The museum is home to a massive collection of more than 50,000 pieces, including sculptures, paintings, natural history specimens, artefacts from the Harappan civilisation and more.
The virtual tour of CSMVS can be taken via its official website, and will grant access to all the three floors of the museum. One can very well walk its corridors and look at the interesting pieces housed in the museum.
