Launched into the popular culture by Steven Spielberg, the multi-award winning (including seven Oscars) film Schindler's List, very few people know that there is an actual museum in Poland which is the real factory. Known in Polish as Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera, this is a very quick half a day tour, which takes you to the heart of the industrial area of Poland. The factory indeed still looks like a factory. Inside are various sections, audio-video units, and displays that enlighten you on how Oskar Schindler, a German, evacuated thousands of Jews from the doorstep of gas chambers in the extermination camps. A small café at the end of the museum would leave you with a heart wrenching feeling, and lots of love for the departed. The museum is one of the top on the lists if you wish to gather good insight on World War II and how the Jews were rescued during the holocaust. There is an entry fee for the ticket that you have to pay when you enter the museum. Plan to spend around three hours here. Opening Times of the museum are 9 am to 8 pm daily, with an exception on Monday from 10 am to 4 pm.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
