Rhossy as it’s known to the locals is an interestingly-shaped bay, which offers rolling waves with glassy flat water trailing behind them. This has been a famous wind surf spot for decades so it is essential that you respect other water users. The best wind direction for this famous spot is a South Westerly although it is kiteable from Southerly to Westerly. Many people have learnt here but there are various clusters of rocks across the bay, so you need to take care. The village is a friendly little surf orientated place where you can get coffee and clothes, and your dog can get a bowl of water. There is a water sports shop by the beach where you can obtain useful local information. Alex Trittan, BKSA champion 2003, runs cafe and creperie ‘Mojo’s’.
