Starting at Bahnhofplatz, the street passes through Rennweg, Augustinergasse and Paradeplatz, ending at Bürkliplatz on Lake Zürich. The luxury shopping street is almost 150 years old, and was created by covering up the city moat. Bahnhofstrasse is lined with elegant shops and department stores retailing some of the best luxury brands. You can find stores of world famous brands such as, Prada, Dior, Cartier, Chanel, Zegna, Gucci, Hermes and many other international brands. Bahnhofstrasse is considered to have the most expensive retail properties in Europe. Besides the fashion brands, the street hosts numerous timepiece stores, and as well as pastry and chocolate shops. The Bahnhofstrasse is also considered to be the heart of Swiss banking centre; UBS and the Credit Suisse Group’s headquarters are located here. Take a stroll on the lake promenade going towards Bahnhofplatz and witness the prosperity of one of the most expensive cities in the world.
