Located in the basement of the recently renovated St Pancras Renaissance hotel, the space occupied by the spa was originally the hotel’s kitchens—the exhaust chute adds an interesting element of quirk snailing its way around the ceiling—and the lay-out and design retain some of the building’s 18th century origins even post-refurbishment. There’s a pool laid out with Victorian tiles, a eucalyptus steam room, a sauna, gymnasium and a spacious corridor housing six beautifully appointed treatment rooms. The spa menu features an eclectic mix of treatments, and includes rituals ranging from Balinese and Moroccan, to Japanese and Ayurvedic. If you’re suffering from the rigours of a desk job, the Hellerwork Posture Massage will give your entire body a makeover by digging deep into the tissue surrounding your muscles and relieving them of deep-set tension.
