Madeira Bar is the chic and sleek bar of Le Méridien and located on the first floor. It has to be among the city's most spacious bars - it is fairly spread out and has several options for the kind of evening you may want to spend. This is a great place to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and snacks. The bar boasts one of the best collections of single malts (23!) in the city - opt for the Glenfiddich, 30 years - and has an equally impressive list of fine wines, cocktails, mocktails… the works.
While all their snacks are equally good, especially recommended are the Drums of Heaven and the varieties of dim sums, both steamed and fried. Keep it warm and cosy with a group of friends and use two of the bar's open-air sit-outs for smaller and private get-togethers - as a bonus you can enjoy beautiful views of the sunset. Interestingly, Madeira Bar has placed its chairs at a very comfortable distance making it possible for each group to have its own private space. Also of interest is the low settee with cushions that provides an informal sitting area.
