Chicago is an absolutely fantastic town for theatre. New York might draw the big names and big productions, but when you’re looking for fun, interesting new experimental theatre, hit up Chicago. Theatre Oobleck definitely represents Chicago’s quirky theatre culture: the plays tend to be unusual in style (like the hit ‘There is happiness that morning is’ which is told mostly in poetic verse). Theatre Oobleck doesn’t have a set location, and is located at different theatres depending on the show. Another great thing about Theatre Oobleck is that the shows are pay as much as you can: if you’re out of funds check it out for free, although I would definitely urge you to fork up some cash for what is an excellent artistic enterprise.
