Eravikulam National Park

An ideal spot to sight the endangered mountain goat of South India. this Park is characterised by gently sloping grasslands, spread over 97 sq km in the Kannan devan hills. Home to about 26 different species of mammals and 19 species of amphibians, the Park is home to the Nilgiri Tahr, Niligiri marten, the ruddy mongoose, small clawed otter, the dusky striped squirrel, wild dogs and predators like the leopard and tiger. A new species of a bright crimson colored frog with a distinguishing characteristic of bright red colored iris and extremely short legs has also been discovered in the sanctuary.
