While Tussar silk is available in different parts of eastern India, majority of Tussar silk is produced in Malda district of Bengal. Often referred to as wild silk, it is obtained from the wide winged moth that is yellowish brown in colour. This textured fabric is quite porous and hence, cooler and wearable in warmer areas.
