According to news reports, the train was flagged off from platform number 1 of Varanasi’s Manduadih railhead. The Mahamana Express train from Manduadih to Patna has been endowed with modern amenities such as charging points, LED lighting, digital display, refined toilet fittings and so on. It has 10 non-AC chair car coaches, 1 AC coach, and 2 general coaches.

The Mahamana Express trains outfitted with aesthetically sound interiors have been made as a part of the Make in India initiative. The first train of the Mahamana Express was launched in 2016. The project is dedicated to Madan Mohan Malviya (ex Hindu Mahasabha president), who earned the sobriquet 'Mahamana.'
PM Modi received the French prez today in Varanasi. The duo also went for a boat ride on the Ganges and even made a brief visit to Mirzapur before returning to Benares for addressing public meetings.
