Built for the 1988 Olympics, it was the main venue for ski jumping, bobsleigh and luge. Currently, Canada Olympic Park is used by visitors from all over for recreational purposes, both during winters and summers. The winter season is perhaps the most appropriate and fun time to visit this park as seemingly endless wintertime activities are available for visitors. Skiing is one of the most popular sports here and beginners will have no issues learning in the beginner area which features four magic carpets and gentle terrain. For those who have a little more experience, it’s off to the progression park where skiers can get a taste of the freestyle. Snowboarders absolutely love the terrain park, known as one of the best in Western Canada with over 30 features and the Super Pipe, the largest pipe in Western Canada. This park is also where you can experience bobsleigh and luge. With the bobsleigh, an expert pilot leads you through 10 turns where you will hit speeds of over 100 km/hr, feeling the force of up to 4 G. Luge, on the other hand, is something you do all alone, and experience this absolutely crazy sport as you wind through 5 twists in just 40 seconds!
