Chennai International Airport is now returning to international operations after a break of four months since the lockdown in India. Flights from Chennai will be taking off for locations in the UAE, notably, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. There is, however, one difference between pre-COVID days of flying - it will not be a daily service due to the ongoing pandemic.
There are some rules regarding travelling to the UAE from Chennai; one such being that every traveller needs to go through thermal screening. Moreover, travellers coming to Chennai from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi, or those coming in from abroad will need to take a COVID-19 test.
Also, visitors are required to be in 14 days of quarantine, and can select the option of home quarantine if the result comes back as negative. Also, people coming from abroad with a negative test result are not required to stay in 7 days of institutional quarantine. However, a test will be conducted at the airport to confirm that.
