The Chile Tourism Board has announced plans to reopen borders for international tourists who are fully vaccinated from October 1. However all the visitors will have to undergo a mandatory five-day quarantine period. In order to enter the country, visitors must carry their proof of vaccination through which they will receive a Mobility Pass issued by the Chilean Ministry of Health. Read less
The Chile tourism board in a statement said that the country is ready to welcome travellers from around the world from October 1, which is nearly a year and a half later. The statement further read, “The modification of the country’s Protected Borders Plan will allow entry to all fully vaccinated non-resident foreigners who meet the requirements. Visitors will be able to enter through dedicated airports in Santiago, Iquique or Antofagasta.”
Requirements to enter the country:
1) Vaccination proof
2) A negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours.
4) Mobility Pass will be only given to those vaccinated with Chilean government approved vaccines, which are, Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sinovac, CanSino and Sputnik V.
After entering the country, travellers will have to quarantine for five days at a location of their choice. It could be a home or hotel. Visitors in quarantine could be tested randomly and if the result comes positive, they’ll be transferred to a sanitary residence.
