The Chief Minister has also asked the concerned officers to prepare a new policy to promote Chamera, Bakra, Pong, and Koldam from a tourism point of view. Reports add that the tourism department is working on a new scheme under which the department will start running houseboats and high-end cruises in the said regions.
Concerned officials have also been instructed to prepare the draft rule of the policy. The officials will be studying the region thoroughly, before preparing the draft.
Reports add that the government is making all efforts to promote tourism in the region along with power generation by these major dams of Himachal. This effort of the tourism department and the government will be luring both people of Himachal as well as for tourists visiting here.
Principal Secretary Tourism Devesh Kumar added that following orders from the Chief Minister, preparations are being made to run houseboats and cruises in Chamera, Pong, Bhakra and Koldam.
The officers of the Tourism department have also been instructed to prepare a draft policy, he said.
