The Philippines has decided to welcome fully vaccinated foreign tourists soon, as the county decides to make travel easier for travellers around the globe. This comes as a time when countries across Southeast Asia have been making it possible for fully vaccinated travellers to travel.
The Philippines attracts a massive number of foreign travellers from countries such as South Korea, China, and Japan. During the pandemic, the country had imposed some of the most difficult entry rules for travellers. It is after all, one of the worst hit in Asia, with large numbers of deaths, and infection cases. The economic cost of the pandemic has also been very high in the country.
Tourism Minister of Philippines, Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, said in a statement, "Allowing tourists from green countries or territories that have the majority of its population vaccinated and with low infection rate, will greatly help in our recovery efforts."
As of now, its green list includes countries such as India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and China.
