Sri Lanka’s ETA service for international travellers to resume at airports

The Electronic Travel Authorisation service (ETA) at airports in Sri Lanka is now going to resume, according to the government of Sri Lanka. The service is for fully vaccinated international travellers and is a way to make things easier on international travellers.
Sri Lanka’s Immigration and Emigration Department Controller General Sarath Rupasiri said that on-arrival ETA would help international travellers who have time constraints and are unable to get an online ETA. According to reports the ETA facility would be available for international arrivals at the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport in Hambantota, and at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo.

The controller general has however made it clear to travel operators that online ETA should be encouraged for incoming travellers so that there aren't any delays at the airport.
The validity of Sri Lanka’s ETA is limited to 30 days, but this can be extended to up to 6 months. The ETA is basically a more reliable, efficient, and simplified service for incoming travellers. According to the official website of Sri Lanka’s ETA service, no passport copies, documents, or photographs are required for this process.

Sri Lanka is a major tourist destination, especially for travellers from the Indian subcontinent. The beaches here are widely appreciated, and are known for their virginal beauty. Sri Lanka has seen the highest tourist arrivals in September, with 13547 arrivals.
