Anyone officially selected as a contestant for the show is not permitted to announce or leak about his/her selection to the world until the official announcement is done.

There is a misconception that Bigg Boss contestants make a fortune with the show. But this is not true in all cases. The contestants shall be usually paid on weekly basis until their elimination. It often requires them to sign a prior agreement as well.

Actor Sameer was the highest paid contestant in the first season of Bigg Boss Telugu, as per close sources. He was apparently the last one to be picked for the show. It is also to be noted that Sameer was the fourth contestant to be eliminated from the show.

A support staff of over 250 including technical, non-technical and security work round the clock each day at the Bigg Boss house.

The direction department of the show comprising of over 30 members work on a straight 36-hour shift daily. Yes… you read it right! Each member of the department is supposed to work for straight 36 hours (which includes pre-production and post-production) before he/she completes the shift.

The crew usually has a 15day induction programme about the functioning of the show and a 2-3 day mock session prior to the shoot of the first episode.

No alcohol consumption is permitted in the premises of the Bigg Boss. Any violation is liable to strict legal action against the violator.

In case the contestant is a smoker, he/she is required to buy the total quantity of cigarettes of his/her choice prior to entering into the Bigg Boss house.
