From ‘Bhutu’, ‘Sreemoyee’, ‘Khorkuto’ to ‘Khukumoni Home Delivery’, a number of Bengali television serials have been remade in Hindi. Adding one more to the list, ‘Godhuli Alap’ is also set to have a Hindi remake soon. If sources are to be believed, the upcoming TV show ‘Na Umra Ki Seema Ho’, starring Iqbal Khan in the lead role, is the remake of ‘Godhuli Alap’ that narrates an interesting love story.
The Bengali daily soap narrates a beautiful love story involving a much older lawyer and a village belle. Ace actor Koushik Sen is essaying the male lead while newbie Somu Sarkar is playing the female lead. The TV show was launched this year in March and managed to catch the attention of the telly audience with a strong cast and interesting story telling. Director-producer Raj Chakraborty, who is currently having a successful career in politics, has been producing the show.
Godhuli Alap’s story revolves around successful lawyer Arindam, who always stands for truth. He fights for the rights of poor villagers in Mourigram and vows to help them get justice. During his visit to the village, he meets Nolok, the daughter of Haradhan, one of the poor farmers from Mourigram fighting for justice. Under unavoidable circumstances, Arindam is forced to marry Nolok as he had promised her dad. Things take a different turn when Arindam returns home with a newly married bride who is half of his age. While Arindam’s family fails to accept her, he too, faces a dilemma.
Koushik, who is one of the finest artists of Bengali entertainment industry, yet again proved his acting mettle in Arindam’s role. Somu, too, is quite convincing as chirpy Nolok. The show enjoys a good fan base.
Senior artists like Sohag Sen, Sumanta Mukherjee, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Milan Roy Chowdhury and others are playing prominent roles in ‘Godhuli Alap’. It also features Roshni Bhattacharyya in a negative role.
