It’s actress Diya Basu’s birthday today (October 17). Celebrations started at midnight. “I had a cosy celebration at home. I have been receiving calls and replying to messages since midnight. It really feels special,” says Diya.
While her phone can’t stop ringing and the message box is full of warm wishes from loved ones, the actress is having a working birthday. “It’s a working birthday for me. I have a shooting schedule for Canning Er Minu. But it was a late call and I will have an early pack up too. So I have nothing to complain about. Moreover, mom made some delicious food. The authentic Bengali platter made my day for sure,” says the birthday girl with a bright smile on her face.

Meanwhile, her teammates from TV show ‘Canning Er Minu’ have made some special plans. They have planned to celebrate her birthday on the sets.
Diya has been flooded with gifts and the list is big. “Mom gave me a diamond ring, dad gifted me two watches. My aunt gave me a beautiful dress, then there are chocolates. The list doesn’t end here. My friends have some special gifts for me as well and I am looking forward to it. The outpouring love has indeed made my birthday special,” says the actress.
Diya, who became a household name by playing the lead role in ‘Jibon Saathi’ earlier, is playing the role of a courageous girl in recently launched ‘Canning Er Minu’. The TV show features Shayan Mukherjee as the male lead while veteran actor Dipankar De plays a prominent role in the show.
