Father’s Day 2021: From Neel Bhattacharya to Dibyojyoti Dutta; a look at young actors who played doting dads on-screen

Life isn’t complete without the man, who takes the entire load onto his shoulder so that his family can have a sound sleep. His unconditional love and endless sacrifices inspired literature, films and TV shows to portray the picture of a loving dad. Bengali television isn’t an exception. Viewers have seen many artists portraying the role of a doting dad on-screen, right from Shankar Chakraborty, Kushal Chakraborty, Parthasarathi Deb, Bodhisattwa Majumder, Rohit Mukherjee, to name a few. Well, there are some young actors too, who stole the hearts of viewers by playing a loving dad on-screen. For example, Tolly heartthrob Neel Bhattacharya is currently playing a father in ‘Krishnakoli’. Bengali TV’s chocolate boy Dibyojyoti Dutta also played a dad in ‘Joyee’. Right before Father’s Day, let’s take a look at the young actors who portrayed doting dad on-screen. (Photo: Facebook)

Neel Bhattacharya

Neel, who enjoys a huge fan following for his charm, is currently playing a doting dad in ‘Krishnakoli’. The show featured a time leap following which successful businessman Nikhil is now the father of a grown-up girl. The storyline portrays Nikhil as a man of principle who can sacrifice everything for his daughter Krishna (Soume Chatterjee) and niece Munni (Ananya Guha) but doesn’t hesitate to behave strictly with them if they are wrong. In real life, Neel, who is a few years older than Soume and Ananya, keeps having a blast on the shooting floor. (Photo: Facebook)

Biswajit Ghosh

Daily soap ‘Ke Apon Ke Por’ made actors Biswajit Ghosh and Pallavi Sharma household names. The show started with the story of Param, a scientist who marries their househelp Joba. Following a twist, Param-Joba’s eldest son went missing right after he was born. As the storyline took back-to-back time leaps, Param ended up playing a father of grown-up kids and soon grandfather too. Interestingly, he wasn’t much senior to his reel son Sarthak aka actor Indranil Chatterjee. The show beautifully narrated the sacrifices made by a father for his children and Biswajit played the character quite convincingly. Fans, on the other hand, simply went gaga seeing such a handsome dad-turned-grandfather. (Photo: Facebook)
